FRA SUPERVISOR REASONABLE SUSPICION AND POST-ACCIDENT TOXICOLOGICAL TESTING TRAINING


The FRA Supervisor Reasonable Suspicion and Post-Accident Toxicological Testing Training is an extensive program designed to meet the requirements set forth by both the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) for supervisors. This course equips participants with the skills to identify signs of drug use, recognize symptoms of alcohol misuse, and comprehend the procedures involved in post-accident toxicological testing. By completing this training, supervisors are empowered to proactively assess safety risks, intervene prior to incidents, and make well-informed decisions regarding testing following accidents.

This course complies with training requirements set forth in 49 CFR § 219.11(g) and includes training on the signs and symptoms of alcohol and drug influence, intoxication, and misuse including the acute behavioral and apparent physiological effects of alcohol, the major drug groups on the controlled substances list, and other impairing drugs. The course also includes training on the qualifying criteria for post-accident toxicological testing contained in 49 CFR § 219, subpart C, and the role of the supervisor in post-accident collections described in 49 CFR § 219 subpart C and appendix C.

  • Supervisors that could be engaged in FRA post-accident testing protocols
